Samsung released its latest flagship Android phones S9 and S9+ last month in Barcelona. Focusing mainly on the Camera improvement, S9 and S9+ are seen as an incremental update over last year’s flagship S8 and S8+ phones.
Similar to Apple iPhone X’s Animoji feature, Samsung was quick to launch a new form of 3D avatars animation feature called AR Emoji. Though, we are not quite convinced on the quality of the 3D characters and animations, Actual life user’s reactions are awaited as the phones shipping has started in some part of the globe.
Riding on this wave, according to a report in The Korean News Outlet the Bell, Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy S10 may boast a feature similar to iPhone X’s face ID feature. As per the report, Samsung is working with ‘Mantis Vision’ and a leading 3D sensing camera module company called ‘Namuga’ to make this feature available in its next flagship. Mantis Vision is an Israel Startup company which has extensive experience in 3D Camera vision and 3D VR content.
Notably, IPhone X’s Animoji and Face ID unlock features were one of the most talked about feature when the phone was launched. Now it will be interesting to see the Samsung’s version of how the Face ID feature will be utilized in its next flagship.
